Gerta Vrbova spent part of the war in hiding in Slovakia and Hungary, crossing the border under different false papers several times. Her testimony is devastating and shows her tenacity and bravery. Gerta also talks about her time with Rudolf Vrba, who became her first husband, who Gerta reunited with shortly after his escape from Auschwitz and the writing of his influential Vrba–Wetzler report that halted the deportation & saved the lives of Budapest's 200,000 Jews.
